The Alvernia University Women's Council members believe that every woman should know how to defend herself and feel confident in her abilities. We invite you to join us for this exclusive event taught by Carl Britt, retired Cumru Township Police Officer.
Carl Britt served 25 years as a police officer, earned an 8th degree black belt in Kenpo Karate, and trained many police departments in Pennsylvania.
In this class he will cover how to avoid becoming a victim, how to stop an attack/attackers, and important laws related to self-defense and much more. Women can expect the following from the class:
to gain more awareness, avoidance de-escalation and self-defense techniques;
to practice exercises and controlled but realistic assault simulations;
to recognize the warning signs of an attack and avoid threatening situation before they become dangerous;
to learn to use the power of their voices and body language to protect themselves with simple and effective techniques to an attacker's vulnerable areas and defense for worst case scenarios.
