Alvernia University will host a CASE District II Conference on March 5, 2019 funded in part by a CASE District II Venture Capital Fund grant. The Conference entitled “Applying for and Managing Federal Grants” will be held on Alvernia’s beautiful main campus in Reading, PA and will provide critical information on federal grants and effective federal grants management. With limited budgets for training and the ever-changing landscape of grant management- especially with federal regulations- this conference seeks to fill the gaps for those who may otherwise not be able to participate in such a high level training. Grants professionals who attend will acquire information and competencies in writing, obtaining, and managing federal grants in compliance within the context of recent and more stringent federal regulations. In addition, colleagues from across the region will also be able to network and share professional resources.
Topics include: Basics of Federal Grants, Notice of Funding Availability (NOFAs) and Forecasts, Federal Grant Management, Policies and Procedures, Legal Requirements and Issues in regard to Higher Education and Federal Grants, and deciphering the 2 CFR 200.
Speakers will include several grants colleagues from across the District who have experience with Federal Grants from agencies such as the U.S. Department of Education, The Health Resources and Services Administration, National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of State, and others. Wiley and Rein, LLP, our featured guests, will present on federal grants legal issues and grants compliance.
